Borrow our Smoking Resource Boxes

Two new Resources Boxes on Smoking are now available to loan from the Resources Library at the Directorate of Health Promotion.

Resources box

These include:
A Smoking Resource Box for Primary Schools
A Smoking Resource Box for Secondary Schools/Colleges

Both boxes include interactive resources e.g. a jar of tar, games, video’s, CD ROM’s, etc, as well as Background Information Sheets and Lesson Plans on a number of smoking topics.

These interactive resources are ideal to use when covering the topic of smoking, and can be linked in to many aspects of the School Curriculum e.g. Science, Maths, Geography, English, PSHE/Citizenship and PE. They would also be ideal to use when holding a Health Awareness Day/Week.

To borrow these resources you need to join the Resources Library at the Directorate of Health Promotion.

There are three ways of doing this:

If you are already a member, you do not need to re-register, but if you haven’t ordered online before you will need to telephone the Library Enquiry Desk on (01782) 298193 to obtain a username and password.

Once you have registered and have got a username and password, you can then place your order online at www.healthinfo.nstaffs.nhs.uk. You will need to log in, and under ‘Text’ on the toolbar type in ‘K15437’ for the Smoking Resource Box for Primary Schools, or type in ‘K15438’ for the Smoking Resource Box for Secondary Schools/Colleges.

For a step by step guide on ordering resources online, click on ‘How to Order’ on the toolbar.

There are also loads of resources on other health topics that you can borrow e.g. alcohol, drugs, food and health, sexual health, etc. To see what else you can order, go to www.healthinfo.nstaffs.nhs.uk and look under ‘Subject’ on the toolbar.

We hope you find the Smoking Resource Boxes useful in supporting your work!
